Green Ridge Fire

  Green Ridge Fire
Green Ridge Fire
We were vacationing at Camp Sherman, Oregon when a strong electrical storm passed overhead late afternoon. The next morning we found it had started a fire just a couple miles away. I was able to get some shots of the retardant drops before they closed the area. These drops went on for several days.

This little guy would mark where he wanted the drops made. He circled the fire (for hours) and marked the spot as he led the tankers in.

There were two prop tankers and one jet. Each could make two drops before having to go for a refill

This guy would make water drops in-between the retardant drops. The Metolius river nearby so he did not nave far to go.

There was three tankers making retardant drops and one helicopter making water drops between the retardant drops. Each tanker could make two drops before it had to go back for a refill.

The firefighters do wonderful work! That's the thing I hate about summer around here- all the wildfires!!

This is a too familiar scene for me this year Gord! Our fire season is only about ½ way over at the moment!
What wondeful graphic shots!
