Cabin Trail in Happier Days

Cabin Trail in Happier Days

---
This is one of the trails at one of my favorite hangouts, Bowmans Hill Wildflower Preserve in Washington Crossing Pennsylvania. Shot in May of 2012.
----
Though at this point, the park had recovered from the devastation from Hurricane Irene the previous summer.
----
Now it has to recover from Hurricane Sandy. I was there about ten days ago and the tree carnage was heart-breaking. Hundreds of tall trees have been uprooted and are still waiting to be removed. So sad. However the new pond area, thankfully, was not touched. Should be wonderful this summer.
---
In the remarks area I'll post a very sad looking tree I shot there on Jan. 11.

Love the Cabin as for the trees it's all park of the natural order of things. Now you get new life popping up in the open sunny areas.

Unfortunately, due to budget problems, it may never get back to it's former beauty. We have the same problems at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee. After 2 ice storms and the drought, it's a shadow of it's former self. Too darn bad.

I can see why this would be one of your favorite places, Michelle...love the woods and trail and your POV. It's always sad to see the destruction Mother Nature can bring, but time (and sometimes $$)is a great healer. Hopefully the Preserve will bounce back.

Such devastation is so heartbreaking when it is so close to home. It will rejuvenate over time. A terrific capture Mchelle.

It almost looks like a bear face on the tree. The density of the green forest is beautiful Michelle.

I can see why it was one of your favorite places. So sorry about the devastation but hopefully in time nature will repair some of the damage.

Great capture and POV Michelle. A sad story indeed but over time nature will redeem itself with new growth, glad to hear that the pond was not touched.

I really like this type of shot, Michelle. I like your emphasis on the stairs in the foreground leading you to the cabin.
