The Rock at Gilbratar
The Rock at Gilbratar
Our first stop on the cruise was the Rock of Gibraltar. Gibraltar, only two square miles in area, is its own country, self-governed, though it is still a British overseas territory. It is on a narrow peninsula attached to the end of Spain and linked to it by a narrow isthmus. The top of the Rock is 1400 ft high, and it is only fourteen miles across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco on the African continent. We took the cable car up and then hiked the rest of the way in 95 deg. heat! The views were awesome!

What a totally amazing sight! Breathtaking view and what a great sense of scale captured with the inclusion of those very tiny buildings below...superb textures and color and as always, excellent information, Ann. (Another one of my dreams...someday, The Rock!)

I thought "The Rock" was a professional wrestler and actor! Ha! Ha! THIS "Rock" is beautiful! I've always heard of the Rock of Gibraltar, ... but this is the first time I've seen it! What a spectacular view! Well worth the climb ... even though you were probably sweating!! Fabulous colour, comp and capture, Ann! Excellent work! :)
