The Rock at Gilbratar

Uploaded: July 29, 2012

Description

Our first stop on the cruise was the Rock of Gibraltar. Gibraltar, only two square miles in area, is its own country, self-governed, though it is still a British overseas territory. It is on a narrow peninsula attached to the end of Spain and linked to it by a narrow isthmus. The top of the Rock is 1400 ft high, and it is only fourteen miles across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco on the African continent. We took the cable car up and then hiked the rest of the way in 95 deg. heat! The views were awesome!
