I tried our monthly theme out at a parade last weekend...not an easy technique to master, thats for sure..I thought these were two of my better efforts..

great shots Tony, I love the Dynamic Band one its like the music is coming right out of them in a way we can see it and not just hear it. I love it! super job, to much fun.

I love these Tony. The one of the Redcoats is my favorite. Did you twist the zoom to get this effect?

Thanks Rita and Susan..the lens I used is an older one and actually uses a push and pull motion to zoom out and in, but yes, that is exactly what I did...used f32 0.40 seconds to keep the shutter open long enough to achieve the effect..

Great shots for the monthly challenge. I especially like the first one! All the squiggly lines remind me of notes and it's like you captured the music along with the marching band. :~)

YOU'RE KILLING ME HERE! #1 - way too much motion for me with those squiggly lines. Makes me seriously nauseous. Actually like #2. I can look at it for about 15 seconds before I get dizzy. I like how you can focus in on the band and then the effect just adds more drama to the image. Very nicely done, Tony!

This was a fun but dizzy challenge. Great job Tony. I like the RedCoats but the Dynamic Band is my favorite. The trees look like they are exploding with the music.
