Can you give specifics on how you took the shot? I love the effects of the still water and the skyline. More info. would be great. Its a really nice shot! Karyl Dalby #713566

Hi Karyl,
I’m not sure you will like this answer; the results would be difficult to reproduce. The image was made with a handmade camera that used a 28mm lens and 120 film, very wide. The exposure was in the range of 30 seconds and I believe the aperture was f16 to f22. I still shoot with this camera, as it provides a unique viewpoint. There is a picture of the camera, and one more of my handmade cameras, on my BetterPhoto site. Creativity can be applied to the tools you use as well as the pictures you take. There is an article about some of my cameras at www.siskinphoto.com/magazine4a.html. Thanks for your interest!
Thanks, John

John, thanks for your response. I'm impressed with your ability to make your own camera. Its pretty amazing what some people are capable of doing. You really did a nice job. Thanks again for the info. Karyl Dalbey #4643632

Hi Karyl,
Cameras are simpler than we think. Really just a lens and film will do the job. The key is to bring an understanding of how images are captured. Film did make it easier to this kind of home built camera. Thanks for you interest in my shot.
