Does the WB on this need to be tweaked? I tried to sample a neutral gray in the pillow but he turned out too blue and almost a lime tinge. So I went back to the original. Any ideas? #1529408

Debbie, what a beautiful boy!! I love his pose, just want to pet him!! I think the wb is good, but the pillow is a bit distracting. Just wondering if he is a bed hog? #10704767

You are right, Beth -- he truly is a bed hog. Although for the past week he hasn't ventured up. He was probably waiting for Martin to come home. He may still be mad at us for only getting a queen sized bed for the RV! #10704951

What a beautiful golden! The pillow didn't distract me at all! All I could see was that sweet face! #10705023

The white balance works well for me, Debbie! #10705280

Yes, the color of your dog's coat looks about right-I'd keep it the way it is. What a nice portrait of your dog! Did you use a flash or is this natural light? It is very crisp and sharp. #10705293

Looks as if Samson is enjoying the new digs, Debbie. WB looks fine to me but you know his true color better than any of us could. #10705495

I think it works OK as shown Debbie as there is no color in here that looks out of place even though they may or may not be true to life. My impression is that it is a bit on the red side, but because there is nothing that yells the color is wrong it is OK.

Here is a great tutorial on finding neutral gray and adjusting it. OF course, like many things this does not always produce positive results when used by itself but along with adjusting the black and white and some other tweeks it often gets you to a color adjustment that no amount of playing with the shot would get you.

I seldom can detect color cast problems on my own. I try to learn from other's opinions. Now that I'm viewing it on my desktop monitor (rather than work laptop), the most I was seeing was Mike's observation. I think that could be either color cast, brightness or saturation. If you look at his tongue and think that is a little too purple/magenta ( I don't), maybe that is a clue for you. #10706470

I think this is such a nice portrait of your dog...do you have any where he's looking at you in this pose? #10706792

My guess is he lost the stare down he was playing with his master. I have a hard time photographing my dog sometimes because of this-I believe it is a submissive gesture to look away. #10706802
