Description

Her is another one for the April Challenge. I photographed the outstanding chalk art creation at last years festival in Pasadena California. Due to the size and severe space restrictions I had to borrow a ladder and compose keeping as much of this outstanding work as possible.

Exif: F Number: 3.5, Exposure Bias Value: -0.33, ExposureTime: 1/2500 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 28.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 7D

Wonderful Art! I like how you managed to squeeze in the artistic materials on the right side which helps tell what this is even without the explanation. Hard to believe this can be accomplished with just chalk and a sidewalk. You captured it well. #1524708

I agree with Mike, Art. This works on all levels and as Mike mentioned, including the chalk was a stroke of genius.

Isn't this event coming up again, very soon? #10659812

This is awesome, Arthur! I can see why it was so hard to fit into the frame! #10660058

Thanks for the positive feedback. The quality of the works of art created at these festivals is just amazing.

Dale..The next Chalk Art Festival in Pasadena is Fathers Day Weekend. Nice shooting with you the other day. #10660110

Yeah, this is really cool! They do a couple of these around here, but I've never been able to get to them. Perhaps this year? #10660144

Very cool! Hmm - one of the issues with living in a podunk town- we don't tend to have anything like this in the area! #10660325

They have Chalk Art in Denver in Larimer Square but I haven't gotten to it yet. Love the composition and can just see you climbing up a ladder to get this wonderful POV. #10660360

Thanks for liking my capture Jeff, Debbra & Debbie.
Debbie.

I do what I gots ta do to get the photo. I was lucky to find someone at a very crowded event that had a ladder to loan. #10660401

this very cool, it amazes me of the talent in these chalk drawing. this one is really good...you don't happen to have one of the person working on it. that would be great to see.

the best part is you didn't fall off the ladder and you got a great shot....you can do more than one thing at a time....LOL #10660664

Hi Rita. You ask for it and you shall receive, I have several captures of artists working on their chalk are. Here is one I think you will like. #10660918

That's very impressive Arthur and I mean both the chalk work and your photo. Kind of makes you humble though to think we just have to twiddle a few knobs and click a shutter, doesn't it! #10663152

I agree Peter. The artists at the Pasadena Festival are some of the best around. Looking forward to the one coming up in June #10663164
