Printing

I'm having trouble with the printing of my photos. When I take them to the photo shop to be printed out in the 4x6 format, about an inch is cropped from the top and bottom. I'm using a Sony Cybershot 707 and was wondering if I have to shoot pics at a certain resolution for the 4x6 format. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gabe

Since you're shooting digital anyway, why not get a $100 printer and print your own? HP, Canon and Epson make excellent inkjets in this price range.

If you want to give the shop something easier to work with, you might try sizing the images in your photo editing software to about a 4 x 6. Unless the dimensions of the CCD in your camera are directly proportional to a 4 x 6 print size, you'll have to make one dimension 4 or 6 and let the other one fall a little short. Consult your software instructions to see how to do this and keep the file size constant. In Photoshop, go to Image/Image Size and UNcheck Resample. Check Constrain Proportions. Whatever imaging software you have, there's a way to do this, even if the terms are different.
