Resubmitting Hi,all -- could some kind soul please explain to this newbie the customs regarding resubmitting pictures to the contest? Is it better to declare it's a resubmit as I've seen under some pictures, or does it matter to anyone other than the frustrated photographer?

Hi Kay~ If you resubmit a photo that is already in the contest, it will be placed in order for that month. Most likely no one will see it, as it will be close to the last page in the entries for that category. If you resubmit and upload it again, it will appear with the new entries. I think you can even save all the comments from the first submit by copying and pasting onto the new. Hope this helps :0)

No, you don't need to declare it a resubmit if you don't want to. Some of us do so everybody else doesn't think we've gotten senile. LOL

You cannot re-submit the same photo in the same month,...(with the same title). It will get dis-qualified.

Thanks Casey, Carolyn and Bob for taking the trouble to answer. I've figured out that pictures are posted in the order of the ID number assigned, and that's everywhere on the site including the course vaults. To be noticed a second time, it would have to be uploaded again to receive a fresher ID number. (If this isn't so, would someone tell me?) Carolyn, I'll omit the "resubmit" though because at age 61 most people would assume senility no matter what ;-)

And they'd be correct in my case. I'll be 64 very soon. (hopefully)

Is it possible to resubmit a photo that was awarded a Finalist badge the first time? I went to my photos and resubmitted one of my favorite past entries and later realized it had been a Finalist some months ago. Will somebody help me, please? I wonder what I should do in case this is not possible.

Yes, you sure can. I don't know if it will help, but it could.

The good news, Cesar... if you resub a Finalist, and it doesn't go gold, you don't lose your Finalist, either.

You sure can Cesar. Sometimes it pays off to re-sub a Finalist if it suits a better category. I had one that didn't get an EP in one category the next month it got a Finalist in a different one! Depends on what I'm re-subbing, sometimes I'll mention it other times I don't.

Okay, I have been around a while, but I tried to upload an image that I had re-worked on, and I had submitted it earlier this month.Dummy me I saw it's flaws and wanted to to upload again. I feel that I'm crazy, but BP doesn't even let to get to it from my computers folder. Is that possible???

Sounds like a browser issue, perhaps---BP doesn't have a means of preventing you from uploading a particular file---is it in an acceptable format? (JPG, TIF, etc)?

Chris, I used their alternate uploader, which I have not used in years, and it worked!
