Available light portraits Does anyone have any tried and true tricks to available light portraits? I did my first shoot today, no lights. I placed a white background near a North window and used a white reflector board to light up the shadowed side. Does anyone have any tips that has done this same setup? Thanks

U had said it, U had done it. Jus move the fast around a lil bit, and concentrate on ur composition, if the window is too big, cut light from reaching the lower chest a most window portraits looks beautiful at up to waist only. Meter on the nose, the cheeks in shadow, and other areas that give u different readings. For contrasty effect do not use any diffuser .- set on the highlights for dreamy soft light which most North window gives, use diffusion for an ethereal effect. Hope this helps.
