Winter and Holiday Photos I'm writing a short blurb for a local publication on tips for taking photos during the winter season and holidays. I would LOVE any input from all you wonderful photographers! I'd like to give some valuable tips on snow shots, Christmas lights shots, menorah lights shots and anything else that could make it fun. Thanks!

Hi B.! 1. mention to shoot at dusk, while there's some color in the sky, if possible. Tony Sweet

I always look for nice contrasting light ( i.e. like shadows off trees cast on the snow). I find that the area I live in is great for winter scapse taken in the morning. Winter photography is my favorite. good luck

Extra batteries and keep them warm. For snow scenes, overexpose one or two stops if using camera's build-in meter. Condensation problem when bringing in the camera from outside into a warm place. Put the camera in a plastic bag BEFORE entering a warm place and let the camera warm up slowly.
