Fuji vs. Pentax

A while a go I purchased a 300$ fuji non 1300 point and shoot with a 28-130mm
zoom. Just recently a friend got me an old Pentax k1000 with a 52mm lens. I then bought a Tokina 80-200mm lens for it as well. It does not have a flash. The question I need an answer for is which camera to take on a back country canoe trip to Algonquin Park in Ontario. Not long ago I did a little test between the two cameras (I had not bought Tokina lens at the time) and the tiny Fuji did better on almost everything bar flower shots.I was quite inexperienced with thismanual k1000 at the time so...what do you think? I would really like so feed back quick as the trip is next week. Oh, the Fuji also has a Macro and landscape setting.
Keep in mind I have no flash for the pentax.

Since you aren't happy with the photos you've shot with the K1000 (theoretically they should be as good or better), I'd lean toward the p&s. Take extra batteries for it.

If it were me, the K1000 is mechanical and uses electronics for the meter only. Should it get wet during your canoe trip, it'll still work, whereas the all electronic p&s will die if it gets dunked. Also your lenses are better than the built-in zoom of the p&s. I have no idea why your results are not pleasing to you. Maybe inexperience, in which case the p&s might be a better choice for you (plus it has useful wide-angle range to 28mm that your K1000 kit lacks). Take spare batteries and keep it dry.
