Hi Lucy, you are correct in your own constructive critique of this photo. How about a painterly effect? oil or impasto or watercolor? That is what first came to mind. Have you tried a good post process software such as Topaz adjust for it? That may help a little. I think it would look great painted. Show us what you do with it. Mary

I'm with Mary! You could do all sorts of good stuff with Topaz Adjust. If you don't have it, I highly recommend it.

Thanks Mary and Carolyn. I do have Topaz Adjust and did use it with just a little enhancement. My biggest concern is that I might overdo it. It did not occur to me to use a painterly or watercolor. I will give that a try. Lucy

Hi Lucy, I was playing around with a similar photo on my computer with oil painting by alien skin snap art. that is a wonderful program full artsy choices. then I put a flood filter on top of the painted version. It looked really cool. Of course it took it to abstract level. But if you want to save this photo it is a choice. Next choice would be to shoot this flower again with a tripod to get it very crisp. Mehdi has the flood filter and I think it is free or very inexpensive. I've had it so long I dont remember. Carolyn is correct. Topaz adjust is worth the $ and is a must for all my photos.
