I'm desperate for help!! Here's the deal. A "friend" of mine (not close but we've known each other for several years)is a great musician. He has recorded a CD and is making 500 copies....to begin with. Some of the copies he will use for his own promotion. The rest he will "sell" to other business contacts to give out as gifts to their customers/clients (with the business logo etc on them). He wants to use up to three of my images on the CD packaging. Of course I'll get the credit line. Any suggestions on how to price this out??? I'm pretty desperate here so ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!! Darlene

I've done some shoots for a couple local bands. Usually they don't have a lot of money, and most of it is spent on studio time, not on pictures. I charged $200, which included the shoot (a couple of locations) and 10 processed images for them to use for anything but resale. Any additional image is $10. This is pretty cheap, but if I charge any more, they are more likely to use the friend of a friend who has a camera!!

I used to be in the local music scene, so I probably charge low because I remember what it was like to be a starving artist, and because it gets me back into the scene, even if I'm not playing music!

I've shot photos for local bands. I did it for free and accepted the artist credits as payment. I believe thier web page may still be on line. Maybe by searching the bands name 'Victims of Nothing' my photos may appear?
