best lens I am a portrait/event/hopefully soon wedding photographer and I have two lenses: 70-300mm 1:4-5.6DG and a 28-70mm 1:2.8-4 I am in the market for the "perfect" lens for these types of photography. Any suggestions? I want to be able to blur backgrounds easily (for portraits) and yet have enough zoom for weddings/events. PLEASE HELP!!!

You CAN do it with your 28-70mm 1:2.8-4. An EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM would be preferable, though. The 70-300mm 1:4-5.6DG is of little use for weddings.

Hello Jessica, The perfect lens? Well; you know there is no such thing. :) To cover such a wide array of shooting subjects, you will want a zoom in the area of 18-200mm. On the plus side of the ledger, you won't have to change lenses often with the added benefit of little chance of dust entering your camera. All the best, Pete
