much better, thanks... Just got a family shoot at local park on thursday and a 1 year old shoot (at her party on Sat.) sounds confusing.. I thik the party will end up being more like an event shoot not a portriate session....Anyone ever done a childs birthday party?

Okay that was fast LOL . . . I have this dilemma. . . I did a family shoot on Saturday . .. first thing off the mom commented that she isn't photogenic. .. they arrived looking fine . . . hair wasn't what I expected but just looked very casual . . . well I know this lady really well and she was pretty self conscious about being "seen" in the pictures because she thinks she is fat, etc. . . so I knew right off that no matter how or what that she probably wouldn't like the pictures. . . and not necessarily because of what I did or didn't do but simply because of how she felt she looked. . . I sent the proofs to them on Saturday night and let her know on Sunday they were there. .. yesterday she calls and something happened and she couldn't find them all so I sent them again . . . never though did she comment on the pictures or anything .. . well she was wanting Christmas cards so I took her the sheet with the design choices on it yesterday and still she never commented on the pics until finally she just said . . .well I'll probably use the one of the girls on the card(their 3 daughters). . . and then she commented about how fat she looked, etc. . . I said I thought they looked fine . . she is hardly FAT . . . yes maybe larger than HS years but she's 40ish and face it alot of us don't look like we did when we were 18. . . so now I'm feeling kind of bad, but simply don't know what to say really . . . I will post a couple of them so you guys can tell me what you think?? and be honest. . .did I just totally screw this sitting up based on posing choices??

WELL, I WOULD RATHER HAVE WAITED FOR YOU TO RE-POST BUT , I DON'T WANT YOU TO THINK I AM NOT ANSWERING YOU EITHER. YOU USE A BACKLIGHT ON BLACK ONLY WITH A GEL OR FILTER. SUCH AS I WILL POST HERE- AS IN THE CASE OF YOUR HUSBAND, I WOULD HAVE USED A BLUE GEL. EBAY -REALLY CHEAP. THIS WILL ALSO HELP BABIES NOT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE -FLOATING THROUGH SPACE-BUT INSTEAD GIVE THE APPERANCE THAT THE ARE POSED ON BLACK FOR THE EFFECT.

okay...here we go again!!Still here....:) Recovering from concert hang-over...hehehe...a mom's gotta get out, right? Yes, this thread def helped with my studio! Sorry I haven't posted...Got a shoot for a 3 year old Thurs after school...Should be cool...gonna do the hay /overall thing...any other suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks for the focusing tips...was having the same prob going to try the tips! Also, for those new to PS, if you soften a pic, amke sure you use a layer and go back to sharpen the eyes, something that took me a while to learn-I'm a self-taught PSer, so i'm still working on it. Here are a couple of pics from last week. Might have the oppertunity to shoot some concerts soon-that would be so cool!!
