Pink Hue in sunlight?!?!?!

Hi all,

I have a new camera - Pentax optio 750z and have just come back from holiday in Spain.

A large number of my photos have come out pink where there is high levels of brightness. For example, the white foam of a wave breaking is now pink foam! I'm sure you get the idea!

So, two questions. Firstly, what did I do wrong in the first place for this to happen? Maybe I have accidentally turned on a filter? Strangely the flash did fire up when I was shooting - perhaps I had the setting for the flash wrong? I'll check the handbook for that one!!
Secondly, I have Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 - but I am something of a "point, press, print" kinda guy! Can someone give me any tips on how I might remove this from the pictures that I have taken?
Thanks very much in advance for any help you give me!
Cheers
James

I would say to correct the problem, you would need to change the white balance. So set the white balance to sunny, and then go outside and see if it helps. I don't have Jasc, so I can't help you there.
