Photography Question

Angela E. Wright

Wide angle, short telephoto What to buy 4 Portrait

Hi,
I am hoping I can get some help here. I am setting up a home studio and have just bought a Sony f828 digital. I have been looking for a wide angle lense for general purpose and for portraiture? I am a novice when it comes to lenses and don't know what to get.
I need a wide angle that will give me some width but not be over exagerated or show distortion..I guess a general purpose one.
I also need a short telephoto lense that I would like to use for portraiture but don't know what size to get... is a lens that is the equivelent of 135mm what I would need?
I know what I want to use these two lenses for - I just don't know lenses or what specific ones to buy!

Are there any general purpose lenses that I should have for doing "people" photography? I will be indoors and outdoors and will be shooting babies and toddlers alike as well as senior photos.
Like I said, its for a sony f828 digital so if anyone could show me where to look or tell me what I am looking for (numbers wise)- that would be great.

From what I understand, the Sony F828 is not a SLR camera, so you can't really get different lenses. However, according to DPreview.com your camera zooms from 28mm-200mm equivalent.

Actually Miguel, there are two adapter "lenses' that will allow you greater Wide Angle/Macro and Telephoto shots. They are-Titanium .5X 58mm Wide Angle Lens and Titanium 2x Telephoto Lens - 58mm. You can find them on Ebay for fairly cheap!
