My Secret Garden
The Fairies Greet Me At My Secret Garden Door. Made of Flowers and Leaves, And Fairy Dust Galore! They Smile And Softly Wave Me In And This Is Where The Fun Begins! I see Panda's and Wolves, Rhino's and Ape's, Together in peace, at each other we Gape. For In My Garden We All Live Together, Humans and the Wild Become Sister and Brother. :D by Laura E.Swan I DEDICATE THIS IMAGE TO THE ANIMALS OF THE CALGARY ZOO TONIGHT. AFTER THE TERRIBLE FLOOD THAT CALGARY HAS HAD ON JUNE 20th, 21, 22 and 23 of 2013, THE CALGARY ZOO ANIMALS HAD TO BE EVACUATED. MANY OF WHICH, TONIGHT, ARE LIVING INSIDE OF THE CALGARY CITY HALL BUILDING!! THE OFFICIALS SAID IT WAS THE SAFEST PLACE THEY COULD THINK OF TO PUT THEM. MOST OF THEM ARE THE EXOTIC ANIMALS. IMAGINE! THIS GIVES BRAND NEW MEANING TO THE TERM "IT'S A ZOO AT CITY HALL"...! God Bless All The Animals and Keep Them Safe and Well Through This. They Must Be Very Scared. * * *

Original Image
This is actually a hedge down at my Father in laws house. On the big day of the flood, I had delivered groceries to him in the pouring rain and noticed that I could see his neighbors front yard through the hedge! HA!My first thought was "This looks like a secret garden!" I didn't like the burned out sky or the walkway there so knew it would be a DDR project instead!

Almost Thrown Away
This Old Yard Piece Stands About 18" high!! She was all one color of dirty white with chipped paint and busted open at the bottom front base, as you can see here by that big hole!! I didn't see much hope...but then I thought, "Well I can try!" so I bought some acrylic paints, got out my sparkle dust of all colors and went to town this afternoon!

Good To Go!
I thought of Calgary as I painted this. It was good therapy for me. We aren't allowed in the flood zones to help or take photos or even see it, so this made me feel less helpless to do something positive today.
