I like both of these and can't decide whether I like the lighter version or the darker versions. Any preferences or should I try for something between the two?

You just can't go wrong with Sampson and I agree with the lighter version choice. It's more appropriate for an outdoor shot and the dark one takes on the appearance of being underexposed even though some of the details stand out a bit more.

And it is 'light' for me too Debbie. He is such a soft, friendly looking dog.

I vote for the light one. But I do like both. He's a cutey. This makes me want to post a photo of my sweet boy Jack... =) How old is Sampson?

Sampson is approximately eight years old. We got him at the Humane Society in the winter of '04 and he wasn't quite a year old at that time. He is beginning to slow down a bit but I hope he has a few more good years in him because he is the most loyal, lovable dog I have ever had. He is very attached to me but still friendly with everyone he meets. Loves other dogs, too. He's a good model. Gotta love those liver treats!

I share the consensus opinion, Debbie. I prefer the lighter one.
