My interest in photography started when I got my fist camera at the age of 12. It was a Russian “Smiena” (I don’t really know how to spell it in the Roman alphabet) that I won as a prize at a piano contest. Since then I have been taking pictures with various cameras, but my first serious gear was 35mm SLR Canon Rebel 2000 that I later upgraded to Rebel T2. Now I primarly shoot with Digital Rebel XT (Am I Rebellious or what!)
Professionally I’m an ESL and piano teacher, and photography is my hobby. I have taken a course to improve my skills and now I read, practice, practice and read some more.
Why do I like photography? Well, I can’t paint, but I like art. So I capture with my camera what God painted for me. I don’t have my favorite area in photography, because everything around me makes a great subject. I’m very spontaneous. One minute I shoot flowers then I turn around, and decide to photograph a building. However, I must admit that whenever I take pictures of animals, plants or landscapes, I’m always in awe of what a great Creator God is.
Taking pictures for so many years has changed the way I look at things. I see interesting “compositions” almost everywhere. Everything could make a good picture.
I have a wonderful husband, who’s very patient with me ; ) And we have a wonderful baby daughter - that explains why I haven't shot many landscapes recently!
