I started photography in December 2002. I bought an Olympus-730 UZ and had a lot of fun with it. Luckily I stumbled upon the Olympus forum at DPreview and all members were supportive and helped me out. They also made me aware of online contests and that helped me also to learn how to take some decent shots.
In May 2003 I bought a Fuji S2 and I am still enjoying myself. Still learning. I think one is never 'done' learning.
In the meantime - we are talking 2014 now - I bought several other cameras. Right now I shoot with the Nikon D300 most of the time. I recently added a Nikon D700 to my collection which is great.
My favourite lenses are the Nikon 200-400/4 VR lens. A great lens, especially for wildlife photography which I love most and the Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR.
