I love the outdoors, and find myself drawn to shooting anything natural. Beaches are like a magnet, as are flowers and plants of all kinds. Cacti and succulents are other favorite subjects - especially the geometric designs produced by their spines. My hubby and I have recently taken up hiking - the mountains and waterfalls of North Georgia provide great photo ops.

Without a doubt, however, "Looking Closely" is my favorite area - the closer and more intimate scenes, the details and macro shots, the little slices of life. Shooting these is where I feel the most at home.

Once again, thank you for visiting! Please share your comments with me, and come again!!!

Bio

Hi Y'All, and welcome to my Member Gallery!

I am the mother of 4 grown children, 2 of whom are married, one will be soon, and the fourth is in college, still trying to figure out what to do with his life! My hubby and I are from New England, but have lived in Ohio, South Jersey (which was holding a referendum on seceding from North Jersey when we moved there - it passed!), SE Florida, and now metro Atlanta. Our hearts are back in Florida, as is much of my family, and we hope to retire there soon. I have sand in my shoes...

I have dabbled in lots of hobbies over the years, but found that my favorites are cross stitching and quilting. I have always loved to take pictures, as the piles I have all over the house will attest. Recently, I completed scrapbooks for my daughters that covered their lives from birth to age 21 - I had no shortage of material. But, I became serious about photography only a couple of years ago, when I decided I wanted a SLR. I was so astounded at what a difference in quality this camera produced that I decided I needed to take some classes to learn how to use something other than auto. On a web search, I found BetterPhoto, and the rest is history. I was hooked!! I recently made the jump from film to digital, and, while I love it, I still use my trusty film camera.

In addition, I am a rabid college football fan. I told my husband I would not move from South Florida to Atlanta unless he agreed we could keep our season tickets to the University of Miami. Following them has taken us to Seattle, the Rose Bowl Parade and Game, and Arizona, to name a few. Not only do we enjoy awesome college football, we have gotten to visit great parts of this wonderful country that we probably would never have seen otherwise.
