Started photography when I was 12 (I got a Canon AE-1 for B-Day) and took my 1 and only course back then. Before digital age I had the canon, and inherited my fathers lieca flex along with a few lenses [one being a 1200mm ziess super tele]I also kept a small darkroom to develop my own film. at 19 I joined military, serving 27 years until being "knocked out of the box" in Afghanistan in 04 after being shot down in a helicopter, forcing retirement . Got my first digital camera in 03 (canon power shot) and very quickly wanted a DSLR> starting with a reble, then a Nikon, then fell in love with the sony,(especially since it will take ziess glass) settling with the a900. Currently have the ziess 24-70mm zoom, the sony 100-300 zoom, and the 500mm tele. (wish list includes a ziess fisheye)
Was given the honor of ISP "amature shot of year" nature category in 04, and have since been published over 100 times in local nature mag, and have been published in Jim Fowlers nature calendar 3 years, and have had 1 shot in Nat geo via their monthly online contest. Since being forced from the military I have little else to do but take photos, play around on computer, or watch TV. (I guess one of the burdens of retiring before the age of 50.
