After a long business career in public accounting, finance, information technology and consulting I discovered a deeply held passion for photography after taking a class on exposure by Bryan Peterson and reading books written by Tony Sweet, Jim Zuckerman, Lee Frost, John Shaw and Bryan Peterson. I have been actively pursuing trying to make good images since 2007 however with each passing year I begin to realize how much I have to learn and that it is all about practice, practice and more practice. For me this wonderful journey is a process of continual learning to which there is no end. It is a lot like golf, very hard to perfect and once in a while you get lucky.
I am drawn to all genres of photography, however I find wildlife to be the most challenging and demanding and while I tend to favor fine art photography above all, I find myself primarily making images of flowers and scenic landscapes.
My short term goal is to create photographs that reflect the unique character of the subject matter and my response to it and through the process of learning and practice my long term goals is to
create photographs that produce clear visual imagery, arouse emotions or convey ideas.
