I have been enjoying Better Photo for a little over a year now. I tend to come and go, but I truly enjoy the inspiring photos that are posted by BP members. Cameras have been a part of my life for almost 30 years now. A Yashica J-7 was my first 35mm camera with interchangeable lenses, boy have things changed since then. For close to 20 years I made my living with a camera, but gave it up as a full time profession a few years back. I have worked with all types of camera systems, from 35mm, to Medium Format, to 8x10 view cameras. Sometimes I miss the "Magic" of the darkroom, but I am not sure that I would care to go back to endless hours in the dark. The talent on BP is humbling, as there are many photographers with far fewer years behind a camera than I, that have the God given "Eye" for creating beautiful images on a regular basis. Every time I view the images on BP I am inspired to do better. After having to shoot for a living, burnout affected my desire. I now realize that it was a privilege to be able to make a living capturing the creations that God put on this earth. I want to thank each and every one of you that submits your work for others to enjoy and thanks for taking the time to view mine. Hopefully one of these days I will get a scanner to use on the thousands of slides that are wasting away in storage, that show where I have been over the years. There have been celebrities, events, families, places and things. Every day people, unusual people and even a President. Someday....
