Bio

Hello Better Photo dudes. Stephen's the name, only got into digi photography in March 05 with Canon 20D. Was always interested but was looking for something that could match my trusty old F-1 and there it was. Now I have it fired up with the dual battery grip thing, the 10-22mm, the 24-85mm, a used 200 f2.8 and most recently the long tom 100-400mm. Probably goin' for the 50mm f1.4 next.

I love the 20D to bits as I now have the 35mm equivalent of 16mm all the way through to 640mm. Me and my Canon have been in the musty warmth of a North Ayrshire summer taking photos of barn swallows and nearly freezing to death doing 45-minute star trails in a North Ayrshire winter - and everything in between. Got my LRPS in 1991 and get a great buzz doing photos. Digital's great as I get the results right away. Plan to convert my garden shed to a darkroom in summer 2006 and get all that old gear fired up again.

My photography-funder is technical support for computer games and DVDs and share a tiny country cottage with Phyl the Cat, an unwanted old stray with arthritis and is FIV+. On first seeing him the Vet gave him 6 months to live and he's now into his fourth year here. Life's good and got better when I found betterphoto.com from a search for 100-400mm images. I was trying to figure out if it was as bad as most said it was. You guys showed me otherwise and it's the best purchase I've ever made. Now to sift through a million photos and try to put up one or two that might do justice to your beauties. Thanks to Jim for a marvellous site.

If only I'd had access to a resource like this when I was learning! Oops.. I still am. Later, dudes! Smell them flowers.. Stephen
