I live in such a beautiful area (northern California Sierra Nevada mountains) it is impossible for me not to want to capture the glorious natural scenes I see on a daily basis. While I've been interested in photography for about 50 years, I did not view it as an art form until I acquired my first digital camera a couple of years ago and learned how to manipulate my shots using Adobe PS CS. Originally I took photos as reference for my drawing and painting endeavors -- now I consider photography as another expressive artistic outlet. Generally I will find something wonderful to photograph each day.

I've been interested in photography for over 50 years. To me, it is a magical art form. The medium enables one to capture an image of a moment in time which may never be repeated again. And, through the wonderful world of digital darkroom techniques, that image may be massaged and manipulated to express the emotion the photographer felt when viewing the subject. While I love to attempt the capture of Mother Nature's grand and glorious vistas, I am most often intrigued by smaller, more intimate subjects. There is special beauty to view and record almost everywhere you look if your eye and mind are set in an appreciation mode!
