I'm a freelance music writer and photographer, currently contributing to Down Beat, All About Jazz, Signal To Noise and Route 66 Magazine.
To compliment my writing gigs, I began photographing jazz musicians in concert in 1997 when I was given an Olympus OM-10. It is still my principal camera, followed by a Minolta Maxxum STsi. I've written a book on free jazz and improvisation and am currently working on a study of Charles Mingus' music. I live in San Bernardino, CA, with my wife and two young boys.
