I live in north Alabama in a tiny town called Hartselle. I am blessed to live on 13 secluded acres of land with a 3.5 acre lake that allows me many opportunities to take wildlife shots and the peacefulness is very important to me too.
I have been a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ for 34 years. He took me out of a disasterous self destructive selfish lifestyle and caused me to see the importance of home and family. It's not what you get out of life that is important, but what you give to it.
I have been taking family pics all my life, just about, but last March 2007 I happened on betterphoto.com while looking for a camera. I have been hooked ever since. I have had many hobbies in my life, I am proficient at many handcrafts, but have discovered photography satifies some deep underlying love for creativity. It is so much fun seeing things in the world around me that I would never have noticed in times past. Taking time to stop and smell the roses, if you know what I mean.
I have been very blessed by several people on this site that have helped me tremendously with my constantly expanding skills. Ken Ferguson (you can join his club " Friends For Finer Photography") has really helped me with the basics of photography. His biggest help was telling me to stop shooting everything on auto. Thanks Ken, plus he has fine tuned many things I was off on and still is such a great teacher. Barbara Waldoch really helped me with how to adjust me pics in Photoshop. Thanks Barbara. Jessica Jenney really helped me with deciding on a new camera, thanks Jessica and Judy Kennamer has really helped me by being my friend, introducing me to Jo Ann Cleveland who is so enthusiastic about photography, and letting me try her Canon 100 macro lens, I now have one. Thanks Judy. I will tell you BP is the most fabulous family oriented place to make friends and fine tune your skills. I thank all the great folks at BP for making my life much richer.
I am also taking a creative writing course through Long Ridge Writers Guilde. Very enjoyable as well. My desire it to be able to share my faith in print.
I have a fantastic husband Tom, the chef of our restuarant in Athens Alabama. Check out our web site www.clarks-restaurant.net
I also have two lovely daughters Michelle who is an RN & Jessica who is studying Graphic Design and a wonderful 15 year old granddaughter Natasha. Life is good thanks to my Lord.
I hope you find some pleasure in my images, at least a bit of the joy I have found in making them.
God bless you all with peace and joy.
I have a Canon 7D, Canon XTi camera with standard 55mm lens a 75-300mm, 100mm macro, and a lensbaby composer. I also have a Kodak Easyshare DX6440. I do not consider myself skilled yet, but I'm learning. I think the most important thing anyone can do with regards to photography, or for that matter for all of life, is be teachable. I try to be.
