I don't have any formal training in photography. As a teenager I used my dad's film SLR and a case full of lenses to take pictures when we went Marlin fishing. If you know anything about that, you know you learn patience. More recently, I owned a Canon Power Shot G4 that I bought to take pictures of my pair of Greyhounds before they got too old and recently passed on. That camera passed on too, so to fill an empty space in my soul with a creative pursuit, I recently purchased my Nikon D40. I previously rented a 70-300mm VR lens and loved it and just took possession of an 18-200mm VR to permanently replace the kit lens. I seem to either want to get wider or closer for the subjects I like to shoot (landscapes and wildlife) than the kit lens allows. I travel on my motorcycles when I'm not working hard at my own business. I have lived in Miami, FL most of my life and I hope to get out and see/photograph more of Florida on my bikes. I have an iMac G5 that I calibrated with an eye-one display 2 and use iPhoto. When I can afford it I would like to buy some more software and take some classes. I joined this site to share my images, learn from the talent here, and hopefully make some friends on the way.
