As Good as Gold

Uploaded: April 03, 2010

Description

This experimental shot was overexposed by 3 stops then later the exosure reduced in Lightroom by 3 stops and the curves adjusted giving a striking gold effect on the rocks. Interestingly no enhancements to the colour were made. I think I will experiment some more with this technique

Exif: F Number: 36, Exposure Bias Value: -1.00, ExposureTime: 6/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 105.00 mm, Model: NIKON D300S

Glad you like it thanks. This was actually one of 5 bracketed shots I took with the intention of testing out what detail can be recovered in Lightroom for future reference. I wasn't expecting anything out of this exposure to tell you the truth as it was nearly entirely blown out. It's amazing what details are still in the RAW image. Food for thought the next time I consider discarding overexposed images! #8559233
