Description

-----------
Shot this with my G9 on full auto as I walked down the driveway at about 2:30 pm yesterday.
-------
The temperature hovered around 32F all day yesterday, making the snow that fell extremely wet and heavy. Just hours after I shot this, a very old, large Magnolia tree snapped in half in the front yard. Shortly after that the earth shook as a very large (don't know which tree) fell across the back deck and onto the driveway below (blocking both sides of the garage). Power went out several times, but came back each time. Whew!
--------
Have to go out when the sun comes up and help my husband move the tree (he'll saw--I'll move logs) so the driveway can be plowed.
---
This is not fun yet!

At least you have the compensation of a lovely shot. I understand the damage that heavy snow can cause but in this side of the Atlantic, straight ahead, the snow is so short that we are allways pleased to see it. Hope damage is not big, Michelle. (You may not feel pleased with my sunny entry of today, in any case it was captured in January, but have to day that today is similar as bright and sunny) #1237418

Thanks everyone for the empathy and the good wishes. After moving tree parts from the driveway, we were just thanking our lucky stars that nobody was hurt. Could've been, for sure!

That's a ton of work, Michelle. I hope some younger folks in the area will come offer a hand? Do you have a wheel barrel at least?

It's such a lovely setting. :) Please stay warm and keep your socks dry!!!
