WISDOM & VIGILANCE

Uploaded: November 01, 2009

Description

This is the owl of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, and their version of the Greek goddess Athena. The owl is Minerva's sacred creature and is often depicted with her in art forms. This particular owl is perched atop a pillar in Herald Square Park on Broadway and West 34th Street, right in front of the Macy's Broadway entrance. I took this shot after the BP Summit in NYC yesterday. I hope I have the wisdom to employ what I learned and take that next step forward. The experience was much more than I had hoped for.
