Butterfly Blues
Uploaded: October 30, 2009
This long-tailed skipper (urbanus proteus) was kind enough to pause just long enough for a hand-held shot or two, and generously selected these showy green leaves for its brief respite.
Of course, I 'stalked' this guy for a good 20 minutes before I managed to get those few shots!

Wow, love the light and focus on his back; it really brings out the detail. At first I thought it might be a flying squirrel dressed up as a butterfly for Halloween. Well done, Tess. #8088450ROLAN NARMAN October 30, 2009
