Description

f5.6, 1/125, Canon 100-400mm IS L lens, hand held.

I just bought a new camera (digital) and wanted to try it out with wildlife. So I went to the park to photograph birds this afternoon. But I didn't find any at the feeders as they were down, to my disappointment. So I photographed other nature images instead and then decided to leave. I was on my way out when this little guy decided to land right in front of me on the rail, to my surprise. I guess he was checking me out :) I grabbed my camera and shot off 6 images. Thank goodness for 5 frames per second because just a soon as the camera stopped clicking, he flew away.

You sure got an awesome composition and depth of field for such a "spontaneous" shot! GREAT job! By the way, may I ask which font you use for your signature on the image? #1365184

Very nicely composed. I like the colors as well. The bird could have been a bit bigger in the composition (closer or more zoom..), the sharpness of the bird is lacking a bit too. #1465096

I liked the muted colors in the background and sharp focus on the bird. Nice shot. #1495104

Beverley Lu Steeves June 21, 2005

Thank you Mette! I wasn't able to get closer as if I would have moved, he would have been gone right away. The bird is sharper than the photo shows as when I added the border and uploaded it, the photo seemed to have shrunk a bit, which made it not as sharp. I appreciate your feedback :)
