The Grande Opening

Uploaded: July 22, 2009

Description

Diane and I went on our photo shoot last night to capture twilight in Portland.
We just happened to get lucky. For some reason, the bridge was raised (right at twilight) and we got a great motion blur as the bridge was going down. There was no boat coming through, so we never did figure out why they opened the bridge.
Just FYI, these bridges are lit up in a way to create patterns on the bridge and on the water. This particular bridge opens up by lifting a portion of the bridge straight up into the air.
