Hi Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to comment ... much appreciated, and I'm pleased you like the photo!

By the way: This pic, as noted in the caption, was shot at the recent Summit and our group of participants and instructors sure proved that it's possible to shoot a great location in so many different and successful ways. For instance, I photographed this scene from high above the beach with a wide-angle. Yet others were using other focal lengths - all the way up to long telephoto. Still others in our BP group were down along the beach - on both sides of the pier - shooting wide-angle for big sweeping views, telephoto for tight shots, fast shutter speed (to catch silhouettes of the people fishing from the pier), slow shutter speed (to get the flowing-motion effect from the water), and so on. It's all about experimenting and really "working" a subject!

Thanks again, Steve. #7508950

I like the POV and comp, Kerry. This kind of sky makes for a very moody image. #7509052

Hi Gary,
Good hearing from you! A good observation on the outstanding sky, and I wanted to include a lot of it. But, then again, the colorful water reflections were pretty nice too :-) So, instead of placing the horizon really low in the frame (to maximize the amount of sky), I did a slight "compromise" and put the horizon just below the middle of the image, in order to get the best of both worlds! :-)

Thanks for commenting, Gary!

utterly perfect in every way (of course ;) I forget to find all the incredible information you share outside of the classroom. very interesting use of a high perspective with a wide angle lens and a slow shutter speed. turns this into a amazing piece of fine art photography, kerry.

have a great night - aek #7594159
