Cropped, boosted saturation, and levels adjust..used a gradient filter and selecvely toned the males head to compensate for lots of contrast in the lighting between the two adults..also cloned out some distracting elements in the BG. #1118632Michael Kelly April 25, 2009
Anthony love it and I think you did a remarkable job in PP to get this looking so good. Lighting conditions in zoos and for wildlife in general are so tough because you can't just say move over here please. The composition looks very nice and I am sure thats why you cropped as you did, but I love the two little ones in the back it was a shame to lose them.

Anthony I like the way those two little ones are cuddling in the original. I think you need to put them back in. You did a great job on working with such contrasty light I love to go to the zoo but most of my zoo shots belong in the trash. #7449643Sharon Lohrmann April 25, 2009
anthony, I concur with mike, great pp on this image. the edited version looks terrific. I like the two little ones in the back, but I also like the way you cropped the image. #7449751Anthony L. Mancuso April 25, 2009
Thanks for the compliments..its true Mike, I cropped out the little ones in the back because I thought the composition worked better without them, but since they tugged on the ol' heartstrings so much I attemtpted to edit them in... #7449903Michael Kelly April 25, 2009
That's fantastic Anthony! Keeps the comp and gets um in the shot. I love it - bet the judges will too. #7449926Anthony L. Mancuso April 25, 2009
Sorry..saw some stuff after I posted that needed more work..the new kids on the block looked slightly blurrier than the rest of the clan so I did a high pass filter on them, I also tweeked the lighting a little more to get them to match Dad as much as possible...i also extended Dad's hind quarters because in the original the line of his back leg matched perfectly with the black area and I didn't think it looked right.. #7449940Sharon Lohrmann April 25, 2009
AAAAAAAAAAAA! like magic before my eyes. it would never have occurred to me to do this - or I think, that you could do this. what a family portrait.#7449969

This is amazing! I loved the orgianl post, then saw the two litte ones in the original image and as a mom and animal lover went ahhhhhh, then was so happy to see them added :) You did an amazing editing and cloning job! #7449996Jeanine M. Bailey April 25, 2009
WOW...AMAZING editing Job Tony!!! I LOVE the final outcome with the whole family together!!! :):) #7450012Anthony L. Mancuso April 25, 2009
Thanks ladies...I think cloning and blening thins in are a couple of my stronger editing points and i'm happy with the way this came out, if it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't have even consiidering trying to get them in the shot...In case some of you notice I did see that the grey part of the high pass filter showed up on this last version in some spots for some reason, so I touched it up one more time and entered it in the contest.... #7450054Dale Hardin April 25, 2009
Tony, this is an amazing piece of work. I liked the original crop and the way you utilized the gradient. But moving the little ones in was a superior indication of your skills. Well done. Well done indeed. #7450340Esther R. Tinz April 26, 2009
Glad you didn't 'break-up' the family. The two little ones are just adorable and really add to the family portrait. You're good Tony! #7450796Anthony L. Mancuso April 26, 2009
