worth saving?

Uploaded: April 15, 2009

Description

This is Michigan Central Station in Detroit. It was once a glorious Beaux-Arts building and bustling train station. Now it is abandoned and trashed. City Council members want it torn down, which is a terrible shame since it is a historical landmark and is still a magnificent work of architecture. This is two combined exposures. I exposed first for the sky and then for the building. I also digitally removed a couple of other tourists by the fence but left one for scale.

Exif: F Number: 2.8, Exposure Bias Value: -1.67, ExposureTime: 1/6400 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 28.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D

Thank you, Julianna! Yes, the state of Detroit is really sad. I wish they could save and renovate all of the amazing buildings they have. #7407629
