Photo taken at the St. Louis Zoo March 8, 2009. These cubs are 3 of a litter of 5 born to the Zoo's female Amur Tiger Kalista. The normal litter size is 2-3 cubs. They were born last April. They certainly are rambunctious and all 5 took turns mock attacking each other.

Gosh. They are beautiful. I love how we -yet- see the tail of a -4th- one in the lower left corner. It makes me imagine that tigers just go on and on forever there!!! What timing Tommy! Neat! -Laura #7260640Michelle Alton March 09, 2009

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME, Tommy!!!!! What a thrill!!!!! :-) k #7264482Tommy E. Burgess March 09, 2009
Thanks everyone very much for the kind words, I appreciate the feedback. It was a joy watching them play, so much so that I didn't really see much else on my visit. I bet you'll have fun Peaches. They are beautiful animals. When their young they remind me of regular kittens, so I can understand how some people forget their wild animals and get hurt sometimes. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and happy shooting. :) Tommy #7265135ROLAN NARMAN March 09, 2009

For a moment, I thought this was a serious fight. I'm relieved to know this is just playing around :) Very dynamic capture Tommy! I'd like to photograph tigers at San Francisco Zoo also, but I'm a bit scared to go there since the height of the fence there is being questioned. #7269615Debra R. Harder March 11, 2009

Thanks very much for the kind words Lauren, Joanne and Carol, I appreciate the feedback greatly. If you get a chance Joanne, the St. Louis Zoo is fantastic. The last several years Zagats has named it the number one zoo in America. I realize that's a subjective thing but it is certainly top notch. Have a great weekend everyone and happy shooting. :) Tommy #7282266Vladan D. Djordjevic March 14, 2009
