Located in Prairie Dog Town in the Badlands National Park, South Dakota. This youngster stood there and listened to every word I said to him. Very understanding and allowed me to take his picture..LOL..

There are about 15,000 Black Tail Prairie Dogs at the Badlands, They have a very sophisticated vocal system for alerting each other about danger. They have a different sound for each kind of predator they are announcing, and I sure I could hear them talking about that Oregon tourist as we left..LOL.. #1085201Robert R. Goodman February 17, 2009

Neat shot and interesting information. While I miss your wide angle landscape today, this looks like something that might have been spotted in the details in one of them. Very nicely done. #7175354Monnie Ryan February 17, 2009
I suspect he's trying to decide whether to try taking a bit out of you or running for cover, Denny! Really cute critters! #7175373Eivor Kuchta February 17, 2009
What a nice prairie dog you met, Denny! Both images are wonderful, and so are the titles! Last time I took pictures of those creatures, I had the same thoughts about what they were talking about. They were probably telling each other exactly where I was positioned, that the closest one should stay in his hole a little longer. #7175401Sirsendu Gayen February 17, 2009
Beautiful animal image. #7175626Denny E. Barnes February 17, 2009
