Storm Advancing III

Uploaded: January 30, 2009

Description

01/24/09, Yamaguchi Ken, Japan. At the Southwestern tip of Japan's Honshu Island. We drove along the Western Coast around the tip, all the while in advance of a snowstorm we had driven through to get there. The wind was horrendous the whole day, and it was a wonder that me and my tripod weren't swept into the sea--not once but a number of times! Caught in a blizzard trying to return home through the mountains and had to turn back and take road on the Eastern coast. (All worth it, by the way!)

Exif: F Number: 4, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/25 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 18.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

Wonderful foreground details and lead-in, love the impending storm clouds as bg, the blues are so gorgeous. It seems like there's so many cool places to go in Japan since there are so many islands. I'm just enoying your captures and trips. I responded to your question about my workflow on the Moose entry. Thanks for dropping by. #1075860

Thanks so much Reynaldo, for the pointers in your Moose entry. I'm emailing you a question about that, if you don't mind! #7108052

I like the zones of color in this...and the foreground rocks are perfect! #7117014
