Very nice shot bean! I like the BW and the vignette was a great choice :) #7102119Dale Hardin January 29, 2009
Well done Jeanine. The vignette you added was a good choice. If you have time, would you try a crop? The bottom of the image is distracting in three ways. One, the wrinkling of the dress (this could be cloned if you wish), two, the small bit of hand showing at the end of the sleeve, and three, the line of the stomach curving back into the image.
Try a crop on the bottom up to just below the belly button. This will eliminate all distractions and will not diminish the fact of the pregnancy. It will have the added effect of placing more attention on the mother. Give it a try and compare them side by side.
If you don't like it, throw it out and tell me to buzz off. LOL :-) #7103373

Thanks Deb and Dale!Dale, I tried your suggestion and cropped of a touch at the bottom, cloned out one of the wrinkles and some railing which was still in the picture. Let me know what you think!! :) I DO think I like it better but I had not noticed the distractions before you mentioned them....it HELPS to have more eyes checking out an image!! :) #7103552

I think it looks cleaner now Jeanine. Did you try the crop to the area I suggested? You would of course, have to redo the vignette if you did. I'm just curious if you'd like it. #7103776Shari Kelly January 29, 2009
WOW Jeanine---This is wonderful...Amber J. Skene January 30, 2009
Wonderful work Jeanine! You are going to have so much fun capturing these twins! I can't wait!! Beautiful tones and lighting. #7106919Aimee C. Eisaman January 30, 2009
I like the crop you did on this....it does look better in my opinion! No one has mentioned this so I'm probably wrong, but the whites seem to bright to me. They take away the attention from her face and belly. Would a levels layer help? Not sure! A great pose though! :~) #7107610Melissa G. Meiselman January 30, 2009
Jeanine, I would not have noticed these things....the wrinkles or the hand only because I was looking at her face and tummy. The cropped results does, on hindsight, makes for a cleaner image. #7107705Stefania Barbier January 30, 2009
she has the most tender expression... gorgeous! #7108432Joan E. Hoffman January 31, 2009

Jeanine, what a special keepsake photo; she's looking at her tummy with great tenderness and joy while also thinking, "what happened to me and will I ever be normal again?" :) Can't wait to see photos of the babies! #7130818Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
