Tribute To Wyeth

Uploaded: January 16, 2009

Description

Andrew Wyeth (July 12, 1917 – January 16, 2009) was a realist painter, and regionalist artist. He was one of the best-known of the 20th century and sometimes referred to as the "Painter of the People" due to his popularity with the American public. Wyeth's favorite subject was the land and inhabitants around his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and those near his summer home in Cushing, Maine. One of the most well-known images in 20th century American art is Christina's World (1948), in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art ...I put this together using 2 images and several filters trying to get close to the effect his paintings had...This is my humble tribute to him and his work.

Very artistic, Jill.

I was sad to read of Wyeth's passing today. His work was simple life on canvas.
