Mystical trees

Uploaded: January 15, 2009

Description

Taken in Acadia National Park, Maine. 5D, 24-105. I thought this was a little flat soooo I once again tried an orton type blur effect on it. Makes it kind of mystical. Yes?

Chris I love this
the green is beautiful and so is the composition - definitely mystical - I live in Canada but love Maine and the Park, and of course Sand Beach!
Is the Orton blur something in Photoshop or is it something that requires a number of steps?
great work

This affect can be easily done. Here it is.

1. copy the bg layer
2. apply gaussian blur with 30-50 for the value
3. change layer to multiply
4. use shadow highlight to taste
5. change layer opacity to taste
6. apply a levels to taste
7. flatten and over sharpen
8. apply a saturation layer and decrease yellow as sometimes this affect bumps up the yellows.

Just go by the look you want not the values on the sliders #7033909
