Forgiving Eye

California Grey Whale in Laguna San Ignacio, Baja CA Sur, MX
Hunted to near extinction, the protected whales have rebounded and are no longer on the endangered species list. Some think they have forgiven our transgressions, as mother whales often push their babies to the side of boats to be petted by the amazed passengers.

Douglas, This just touches my heart. Thank God they have recovered from near extinction. Such sweet animals. I've never seen a picture quite like this one, and it is a pleasure to see the eye so clearly and with emotion. It's haunting really. Good work and thanks for sharing. I think I'll go take a look at more of your work. :) #1154902Stephanie Lyons March 07, 2005
I agree that this is a touching shot ... I love the title and the description as well. Nicely done, Douglas ... #1154914Donna J. Eaton April 03, 2005
