Aspen Impressions I

Uploaded: October 06, 2008

Description

I'm really enjoying working on impressionistic photography with the intent of producing something that approaches a painting. One of my favorite subjects is different kinds of vertical trees. I'm slowly putting together a collection from different kinds of forests. This is from an aspen grove in northern Montana where I shot hundreds of vertical pans to produce a few images that I think work. BetterPhoto instructor William Neil of my inspirations for this kind of image.

Canon 5D, vertical pan, .5 sec @ f/22, ISO 50, circular polarizer. In PS a duplicate layer was created and the blending mode set to overlay to enhance saturation and contrast.

Fine art prints and other items can be purchased at www.OutdoorExposurePhoto.com.
