This is much better than the one I saw you upload previously because her arm is bent, one should is higher than the other which makes for a more interesting perspective and plus the knees being bent also helps to tilt the body. Hence, this is a big improvement.I'm learning that if I focus, use AE-lock to hold the aperture and exposure in place and then position my camera so that the subject is NOT in the center of the screen, that my images are better. I didn't understand this concept for the longest time, but instructor Paul Gero repeated constantly to focus, lock, recompose. That is, focus on the subject, lock your exposure, and recompose so that the subject is not in the center of the screen.
I often try to figure for the rule of thirds. Sometimes I make it. Sometimes not. But, I'm trying to improve because it makes for better composition and is more interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
Hope this helps. #1014483

Beautiful portrait Howard, but your DOF blurs the fall colors. Bill #6702915Howard A. Wimpee November 03, 2008
Thank's Bill,I did that on purpose just for my own taste. When I get my grandkids in front of the camera they are all I see, OK anytime they are around they are all I see!!!!! #6703032Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
